Commercial insurance built around how your business actually operates

Legacy Insurance Consultants places general liability, workers' compensation, commercial auto, property, inland marine, and surety bonds for businesses in Ocala and throughout Florida. Every program begins with understanding your operations, your contracts, and the exposures you carry, because coverage selected without that context only looks like protection.

Risk management services

Mapping the exposure

Four bearings every commercial program has to cover

Policies are easy to buy in isolation and hard to coordinate. We start by charting where a business is exposed, then decide which coverage belongs on which form.

  • N

    Liability

What you owe others when your work, premises, or products cause harm.

  • E

    People

Injuries to the employees who carry out the work, and the statutory duties that follow.

  • S

    Property

The buildings, equipment, inventory, and income your operation depends on.

  • W

    Obligation

Promises made in contracts, leases, and bonds that outlive any single policy period.

Why Legacy

A consultant's approach, not a quoting service

Anyone can return a premium. The harder work is understanding what an operation is exposed to, what its contracts obligate it to carry, and which policy language will hold up when a claim arrives. That is the work we take responsibility for.

Veteran-owned and veteran-minded

Julian Sinisterra served in the United States Navy from 1992 to 1997, managing a $25 million equipment inventory in support of a 200-person squadron. That background shaped a discipline around accountability, preparation, and doing the unglamorous verification work before it matters.

Serving businesses since 2009

Legacy Insurance Consultants has placed commercial coverage for Florida businesses since 2009, through a hard market, a pandemic, and repeated hurricane seasons. Long relationships mean we are usually the call before a decision, not after a claim.

Consultative, not transactional

The word consultants is in the name deliberately. Work begins with understanding operations, contracts, and growth plans, because a program built without that context is only a collection of policies that happen to renew on the same date.

Local to Ocala and Marion County

Based in Ocala and active in the community through the Hispanic Business Council of Ocala and VetNet Ocala, we understand the contractors, equine operations, transportation firms, and trades that drive North Central Florida.

Bilingual service in English and Spanish

Insurance contracts are difficult enough in a first language. Consultations, policy reviews, and claims advocacy are available in both English and Spanish so that the person making the decision fully understands it.

Advocacy through the claim

The value of a program is proven at claim time. We help document the loss, keep the adjuster moving, and press for the coverage the policy language supports rather than leaving you to argue it alone.

Specialized risk management

Insurance is the last line of defense, not the only one

Premium follows losses. A business that identifies its exposures, documents its safety practices, verifies its subcontractor certificates, and manages claims actively will pay less over time than an identical business that does none of those things, regardless of which carrier writes the policy.

Our risk management work is the part that carriers reward and most agents skip: contract review, loss trend analysis, experience modification verification, return-to-work support, and certificate compliance.

  1. 1

    Identify

Find the exposure before it finds you

Operations, contracts, fleet, payroll, equipment, and locations reviewed against the policies actually in force.

  2. 2

    Reduce

    Address what can be controlled

Safety documentation, driver standards, theft controls, and certificate discipline that measurably change loss frequency.

  3. 3

    Transfer

Insure what remains, on the right form

Coverage placed with carriers suited to your class, on forms whose endorsements have been read rather than assumed.

  4. 4

    Manage

Stay engaged after the policy is issued

Claims advocacy, audit preparation, mid-term changes, and renewal strategy built from your own loss data.

How we work

From first conversation to ongoing service

A clear process is what keeps a program from becoming a pile of unrelated policies. Here is what working together looks like.

  1. 01

    Discovery conversation

We start with how the business actually operates: what you do, where you do it, who works for you, what you drive, what you own, and what your contracts require of you.

  2. 02

    Exposure and program review

Current policies, loss runs, and contract requirements are reviewed side by side to identify gaps, overlaps, and provisions that will not perform the way you expect.

  3. 03

    Market submission

A complete, well-documented submission goes to carriers suited to your class of business. Presentation quality affects both terms and appetite, particularly in a tight market.

  4. 04

    Placement and ongoing service

We walk through the recommendation in plain language, bind the program, and stay engaged for certificates, mid-term changes, audits, claims, and renewal strategy.

About the firm

Built on accountability learned in the Navy

Julian Sinisterra served in the United States Navy from 1992 to 1997, where he managed a $25 million equipment inventory supporting a 200-person squadron. Accountability at that scale is not a slogan; it is a daily discipline of verification, documentation, and knowing exactly what you have before you need it.

He founded Legacy Insurance Consultants in 2009 after a management career spanning transportation, banking, and retail, and after earning a finance degree from Florida International University. That combination, operational management plus financial analysis, is why the firm reads contracts and loss runs rather than simply forwarding quotes.
